ASHTON - The AFC Raiders opened the week with a trip to Freeport Aquin.
The Bulldogs defeated the Raiders 16 to 6. Evan Kopp (0-2) took the loss.
Offensively Griffin Bushman was 1 for 3 with 2 rbi's. Michael Cochrane was 1 for 2.
"We hit the ball tonight we just didn't get hits," Coach Cissna stated.
Freeport Aquin improved to 7-2 on the season.
The Raiders next faced Polo in a conference double header.
Game one saw the Raiders win 13 to 3. Michael Cochrane (3-0) got the win. He struck out 5 and walked 2 in 5 innings.
Offensively Carson Rueff was 3 for 3 with 2 rbi's. Evan Kopp was 2 for 3 with 2 rbi's. Jared Warner was 2 for 3 with 3 rbi's. Mason Munroe was 1 for 2 with 2 rbi's.
Game two saw the Raiders win 16 to 4. Peyton Lanning (1-1) got the win striking out 10 and walking 6 in 5 innings. Offensively Jordan Harris was 3 for 4 with 2 rbi's. Mason Munroe was 3 for 4 with 3 rbi's. Dylan Gonnerman was 3 for 4 with 2 rbi's. Braiden Runkle was 2 for 5 with a double and 2 rbi's.
"We finally put it together tonight and played well in all areas to get over the hump and get some wins," Cissna stated.
Polo fell to 0-9 overall and 0-8 in conference.
AFC ended the week with a match up against the Oregon Hawks. AFC was defeated 14 to 4.
Griffin Bushman (0-2) suffered the loss. Offensively Evan Kopp was 1 for 2 with an rbi. Dylan Gonnerman and Braiden Runkle were each 1 for 2. Carson Rueff and Jared Warner were both 1 for 3.
"We had 11 walks tonight," Cissna stated. "That's too many free passes. Our pitchers had an off night tonight."
Oregon improved to 2 -11 overall.
AFC ended the week 4-8 overall and 3-5 in conference. Next week is the final week of the regular season. AFC will face Forreston and Pearl City.
