FRANKLIN GROVE - Donald “Donnie” Reinhold age 81 of Franklin Grove, died peacefully at his home Wednesday Dec. 30, 2020 surrounded by his wife and children. He was born on June 27, 1939 in Dixon, the son of Clarence and Elizabeth (Bodmer) Reinhold. Don was a lifelong farmer of nearly 60 years and beloved member of his community. His interests included aviation, motorcycles, boating, and westerns. He could frequently be encountered enjoying his many hobbies and passions, most of which involved pushing his limits and demonstrating that with enough determination anything was possible. He served in the U.S. Army and was a dedicated member of St. Patrick Catholic Church in Amboy, as well as the Lee County Farm Bureau and the EAA. He was also an active supporter of AFC athletics and the FFA, in addition to other organizations over the years.
Donald married Janice Kuffel Oct. 8, 1960 in Walton.
He is preceded in death by both his parents, his brother Robert Reinhold and his sisters Sandra Reinhold and Patricia Reinhold.
Donald is survived by his wife Janice, son David Reinhold of Reisterstown, Md., daughter Amanda Reinhold of Colorado Springs, Colo. and two grandchildren, Bryan and Kate Reinhold, both of Baltimore Md. He is also survived by his siblings Judy Laws of Rock Falls, Mary Harrawood of Goose Creek, South Carolina and James (Janet) Reinhold of North Augusta, South Carolina.
Visitation will be Tuesday, Jan. 5, 2021 at the Mihm-Jones Funeral Home in Amboy from 4 until 6 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be on Wednesday, Jan. 6, 2021 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Patrick Catholic Church in Amboy. A burial with military honors to follow at Woodside Cemetery in Lee Cente. In lieu of flowers, a memorial in Donald's memory can be made to the AFC FFA.
