Madeline Prestegaard Sets All-Time Scoring Record
ASHTON — Two Lady Raider basketball seniors played their final home game for AFC versus Aquin on Tuesday, Jan. 30.
They both were a part of history as Sammy Smith passed inside to Madeline Prestegaard for a turnaround jump shot. The two points gave Madeline a career total of 1472 points to break the AFC scoring record, previously held by Abby Rager in 2005. Madeline ended the night with 17 points.
The Raiders lost a very competitive game by a buzzer beater by Freeport Aquin, 45-43. Jaynee Prestegaard had 20 points, Alyscia Settles hit a huge 3-pointer with seconds to go to tie the game, but Aquin had the final basket for the win.
