WASHINGTON, N.C. — Lester Golden, 89, of Washington, N.C., formerly of Ashton and Rochelle, passed away on July 10, 2018.
He was born Jan. 24, 1929 in Morristown, Tenn., to Buford and Bulah (Sels) Golden. He proudly served U.S. forces in the Army.
He married Vera M. Williams on June 26, 1948 in Rockford. He was a life member of the Church of God in Rochelle.
Lester is survived by two daughters, Vickie (Sam) Phillips, of Ava, Mo., and Connie (Jerry) Keimg, of Morristown, N.C.; two sisters, Irene Harris, of Rochelle, and Judy (Raymond) Prah, of Morristown, Tenn; as well as five grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren and seven great-great-grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Vera; four sisters, Hazel, Agnes, Lorine and Linda; and three brothers, Jeff, Max and Elmer.
Funeral Services will be held at noon, on Tuesday, July 17, 2018, at the Beverage-Lyons Family Funeral Home on 704 N. 6th St. Rochelle, IL 60168. Visitation will be held prior from 10 a.m. to time of service.
Burial to follow at Trinity Memorial Gardens in Rochelle.
The officiate will be Chaplain Judy Williams.
