"By all these lovely tokens
September days are here,
With summer’s best of weather
And autumn’s best of cheer."
                     Helen Hunt Jackson, September, 1830-1885

With Labor Day behind us, it really is fall. We’ve had some beautiful weather recently, so perhaps it will continue and this will be one of those memorable autumns. I hope so.

The Community Book Club will meet on Monday, Sept. 10 at 7 p.m. at the Mills & Petrie Memorial Library. The group will discuss “The Magpie Murders,” by Anthony Horowitz.  If you haven’t picked up your book yet, it is here.

We have been weeding the adult fiction section of the library to create space for newer materials. This is a great time to come and take a look at the used books in the foyer of the Mills & Petrie Memorial Building. There are many different authors represented and some favorite titles from the past. You can get a bag full and still have money in your pocket. Come any time that the library or the building is open.

New books for young people:

“Battle Zone,” by Thomas Kingsley Troupe

“Build It! Things That Go,” by Jennifer Kemmeter

“The Incredible Elastigirl,” by Natasha Bouchard

“STEAM Jobs for Gearheads,” by Sam Rhodes

“Top Secret Author Visit,” by Marty Kelley

“Video Ideas,” by the Doring Kindersley Staff

“When Andy Met Sandy,” by Tomie de Paola

Library hours are 1- 6:30 p.m. Monday-Thursday and 10 a.m.-1p.m. Saturday.

See you soon at the library.
