The Ogle County 4-H Shooting Sports Program Registration is open for air rifle. Air Rifle provides a supportive, adult-supervised environment four youth to learn and try something new. Youth must be ages 8 to 18 years old, by September 1, 2018 to participate.
The 4-H Shooting Sports program maintains a strong relationship with the existing natural resources, safety, and outdoor recreation 4-H programs. The materials and training programs emphasize young people and their life skills as the product of the program while using tested techniques and positive reinforcement. This approach allows 4-H to increase awareness of natural resources and conservations (knowledge), to develop competency in safe shooting sports practices (skills), and to provide youth with positive workforce attitudes (behaviors).
Some opportunities may be available for competitive shooting events, at the regional, state, and national level. The focus of all 4-H programs is the development of youth as individuals and as responsible and productive citizens. The Illinois 4-H Shooting Sports program stands out as an example.
