EL PASO — Orva J. “Orie” Heibenthal, 84, of El Paso, passed away at 5:50 a.m Thursday, December 28, 2017 at Heritage Health, El Paso.
Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Wednesday Jan. 3, 2018 at Calvert-Johnson & Froelich Memorial Home, El Paso, with Pastor T. D. Brewer officiating. Cremation rites followed the service and Inurnment will be held at a later date in Ashton Cemetery. Visitation was from 4 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at the memorial home. Memorials may be made to the El Paso Ambulance or to her church Legacy (House of Faith) Church in Normal.
Orie was born Nov. 14, 1933 in Ashton, daughter of August and Gertrude Jacobs Butler. She married Clarence William “Bill” Heibenthal Jr. on June 24, 1951 in Ashton. He survives along with five children Curt (Suzanne) Heibenthal of El Paso, Gary Heibenthal of Bloomington, Randy Heibenthal of Douds, Iowa, Lisa Arbuckle of El Paso, and Sheila DeMarco of Boilingbrook; 17 grandchildren, 33 great grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, one son Mark, one granddaughter Marissa June and three sisters Alvina Schnorr, Fern Ackland, and Betty Butler.
Orie was a member of the Legacy (House of Faith) Church in Normal. She worked as a secretary in the offices at Admiral in Bloomington and then at American Building Company in El Paso in the Human Resources Department. She loved to crochet and knit for family and friends and enjoyed cooking. She was a loving wife, mom and grandma who enjoyed spending time with her family and worshiping God.
