ASHTON – The Ashton Village Board approved the recommendation of Mayor Tim Henert to appoint Ermir Ramadani to the board seat vacated with the passing of Jerry Williams, Sr. He was welcomed by several board members and reminded that he has big shoes to fill.
Golf cart rules and regulations discussion was tabled due to the fact that Police Chief Jared Yater was not in attendance. It will be put on the agenda for next month.
Zoning Commissioner Casper Manheim reported that he is continuing to work with three property owners on blight and rubbish issues. And he has been working with Kyle Mahaffey on the new business he plans to open.
The building on Main Street that has been the topic of conversation on and off for several years is being addressed. Attorney Russ Crull and Henert are working diligently to get that resolved.
Jeff Clark reported that the village workers are preparing for winter months regarding salt and truck maintenance.
Ryan Pettenger reported that Blair Crum is looking into water meter replacements.
Trustee Chuck Ellis reported that several home owners had approached him about having speed bumps installed along Richardson Ave. There are several small children and lots of traffic. The board will look into the issue.
