Second Quarter Learning

Models

In-Person Learning Model

Elementary School

Kindergarten-Sixth Grade

  • Attend Monday-Thursday for in-person instruction, 8:10-1:40
  • Monday-Thursday teachers provide remote learner supports for 100% remote learners from 2:10-3:00
  • Friday remote learning day for all students: 7:30-3:00

○ In-Person learners (activities vary by teacher/grade)

■ Finish work from the week/corrections

■ Complete reading logs assigned

■ Reinforcement/Enrichment activities (IXL, spelling activities, etc.)

■ Weekly assessments online (spelling/vocabulary tests, etc.)

○ 100% remote learners

■ Teachers hold Zoom meetings with students (either individually or in small groups) at

least once per week

■ New assignments for the next week are posted online or picked up in the office by the

end of the day each Friday (the tote will remain outside over the weekend to turn work in

or pick up work if prearranged)

■ All remote learner work for the week is due by the end of the day on Friday (or dropped

off in the tote over the weekend if prearranged)

○ All weekly lesson plans for the next week are updated by the end of the day on Friday on the

district website

  • Fridays: deep cleaning of the building
  • In-Person Learning Details:

○ All students will eat lunch in their classroom with their classroom teacher

■ Students can still choose a “hot lunch”, while it may be delivered in a sack, it can still

contain hot items

  • All students can still purchase a milk for $.25

○ PE will be offered every other day (each in-person learning student will have PE 2x’s per week)

○ Students will receive specials classes every week with the exception of art which will be every

other week (due to scheduling)

○ Due dates for assignments will vary by teacher and individual assignment

Jr/Sr High School

7-8th Grade

  • Attend Monday-Thursday for in-person instruction, 8:10-1:53
  • Friday remote learning day for all students

○ Complete enrichment activities, as assigned

  • Full remote learners must join synchronous learning on Friday afternoon.
  • Due dates will be determined by individual classroom teachers. Students may no longer have one

week to submit assignments.

  • Weekly assignments/lesson plans will continue to be posted on the district’s website.
  • Students will remain in one classroom for their entire school day.

9-12th Grade

  • Group A: Attend in-person Monday and Tuesday, 8:10-1:53
  • Group B: Attend in-person Wednesday and Thursday, 8:10-1:53

○ 3 days of remote learning

  • All weekly assignments/lesson plans will continue to be posted on the district website
  • Due dates will be determined by individual classroom teachers. Students may no longer have one

week to submit assignments.

  • Some teachers will be piloting synchronous learning and students will be asked to join in on

live-stream instruction during their regularly scheduled class on their remote learning days.

○ Teachers piloting synchronous learning will communicate with students and parents to review

expectations.

○ This may result in differing schedules and due dates for some students.

  • Final exams are cancelled for 1st semester.
  • Friday reserved for:

○ Deep cleaning

○ Synchronous learning via video conferencing with whole group instruction (Group A, Group B,

and Remote learners). See below for the schedule:

1st Period 12:00-12:20

2nd Period 12:25-12:45

3rd Period 12:50-1:10

4th Period 1:15-1:35

5th Period 1:40-2:00

6th Period 2:05-2:25

7th Period 2:30-2:50

Student Support Available

If students need additional support, please see below for options:

  • Any student can stay after school and attend a supported study hall OR they can connect via video

conferencing from home from 2-3 pm Monday-Thursday.

  • Students with special education accommodations, please contact your student’s case manager for

specific support available.

Full Remote Learning Model (family chose to opt out of in-person instruction)

2nd Quarter Only

Elementary School

■ Monday-Thursday teachers provide remote learner support from 2:10-3:00 (emails,

Zoom meetings, phone calls, etc.)

■ Teachers hold Zoom meetings with students (either individually or in small groups) every

Friday

■ New assignments for the next week are posted online or picked up in the office by the

end of the day each Friday

■ All remote learner work for the week is due by the end of the day Friday

○ All weekly lesson plans for the next week are updated by the beginning of the day on Monday

on the district website

○ To sign up for full-remote learning, click here . If you do not sign up, it is understood that your

student will attend in-person instruction following the schedule explained above. Please sign up

by Monday, October 12th by 9 am.

Jr/Sr High School

  • Full remote Learners must log in to track their attendance each day using a Google Form
  • Full remote learners must join a live-stream check in with their teachers every Friday

○ If a student does not join a live-stream meeting on Friday, they will be marked as an unexcused

absence for that class period.

○ Please see below for a schedule of synchronous learning times every Friday:

1st Period 12:00-12:20

2nd Period 12:25-12:45

4th Period 1:15-1:35

5th Period 1:40-2:00

6th Period 2:05-2:25

7th Period 2:30-2:50

following Monday by 9 am for our asynchronous learners.

  • Some teachers will be piloting synchronous learning and students will be asked to join in on

live-stream instruction during their regularly scheduled class period throughout the week.

○ Teachers piloting synchronous learning will communicate with students and parents to review

expectations.

○ This may result in differing schedules and due dates for some students.

  • Teachers will be available for support from 2-3 pm on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, and

7:30 am-11:30 am on Friday

  • To sign up for full-remote learning, click here . If you do not sign up, it is understood that your student

will attend in-person instruction following the schedule explained above. Please sign up by Monday,

October 12th by 9 am.

  • Final exams for 1st semester are cancelled.
