Shirley Rae Webb


ASHTON  - Shirley Rae Webb 79, passed away Dec. 27, 2021 at her home in Ashton, with her daughter and son in law at her side. She was born on May 19, 1942 in Flagg Center, to the late Clyde and Rose (Hintzsche) Schaneberg.

Shirley worked for Eaton, Del Monte and Crest Foods, she co-owned the Huddle Restaurant with her husband Chuck and Jerry Williams and also co-owned Mel’s Tap with Mel Lawson. Shirley was a Green Bay Packers fan, was very patriotic and enjoyed collecting Eagles.

She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law April and Ben Fichter of Ashton and Darla Webb of Rantoul; brother William (Bill) Schaneberg of Franklin Grove.

She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband Charles; sisters Louise Hooberry, Rao Warning, Edna (Bunny) White and Dola Boesecker; brothers Robert, Leroy, Tim and Dennis and grandchild Jamie Burhenn.

Funeral visitation will be held Wednesday, Dec. 29, 2021 from 10 a.m. till the time of service at noon, at the Beverage Lyons Family Funeral Home, 601 Richardson Ave., Ashton, with Rev. Randy Sizemore officiating. Interment to follow to Ashton Cemetery.
