Chana to plan event
CHANA – Last year, the village of Chana would have celebrated 150 years since its founding in 1871.
Due to circumstances, the village board decided to hold off on any celebratory plans. Now a variety of Chana community volunteers and entities are beginning to coordinate a Sesquicentennial Celebration event for the second weekend of June, 2022. Activities will include The Maggie & Amos Foundation's 5k and 1 mile run/walk, free children's events, an antique tractor show and parade, corn hole bags tournament, a street dance, displays of historical memorabilia from Chana history, the dedication of the new Pine Rock Township Soldier Memorial, food and much more.
The next planning meeting will be held Feb. 20 at 5 p.m. at Chana Education Center. Those who would like to assist with planning this event are welcome to attend.
